A DEAL WITH THE UNIVERSE

This feature is Barker's directorial debut, having previously been a programmer for the BFI Flare Festival. A Deal With the Universe documents the director's own journey as a trans man, who becomes a father, opting to go through the pregnancy himself. Using filmed diaries spanning over ten years, this feature generously provides a vulnerable, and pioneering insight into intimate experiences of trans male life, parenthood, and what happens when the two intersect.
