After an overdose nearly takes her life, Laura Birch (Jemima Rooper) escapes from the high-stakes pressure of the advertising world to return to her roots. Accepting an invitation from her estranged mother (Katie Dickie), Laura hopes the time away in a small English village will help but soon discovers a dark secret with her mother at the centre of it all.
